Matthews of Baker, Louisiana; sister, Carol Baysura of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; loyal friends, Bill Cox and Robert Shepherd; the "Going To The Dogs" desert friends (Mel and Ramona Yorgensen, Cecil and Pat Mitchell, Ivan and Jeanie Hershberger, Frank and Gwen Roberts and Harvey and Jane Mosher); nieces; Nancy Henry, Donna Cooper, Linda Riordan and Pat Mountin, nephews; John Baysura, Tom Baysura, Jim Henry, David Henry, Ron Massung, his Schipperke, Rose, and many close friends.

He was a resident of Carrollton, Texas for 30 years prior to retirement and living full-time in his motorhome, traveling around the country with his wife and three dogs. He had been in every state except Hawaii.

Bill was a man who wore many hats. He was known as a breeder of Schipperkes and Pomeranians; an all-breed professional dog handler; an AKC licensed dog show judge; a fence man; car salesman; lover of bluegrass music; an Arizona snowbird and an all- around fix it man. His life was celebrated Friday, December 5, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Rhoton Funeral Home with his former Staffordshire Bull Terrier client, Barbara Law, doing the vocals, accompanied by her husband, Jim, on the piano.
